Happy to reconnect with Pacha. Less than one hour work. Usual sequences at walk, trot and short canter. Clear progress with scary points, a few of them remain though. Good exercise at sitting trot, where I tried to apply what I just saw on an old Nuno Oliveira video posted on the web. NO was riding Bunker in a continuous variation of bending exercises, wonderfully fluid and natural. Movements were short in duration, a few strides each, and seamlessly linked to each other in a kind of ballet: half-pass, then leg yield with outside bend, shoulder-in, haunches outside, then reversed pirouette etc.. The Mestre looked as if he was a sculptor 'sculpting' his horse with a marvellously free hand, taking the opportunities offered by the horse as well as following his own pattern. A remarkable example of non-verbal dialog between him and Bunker - Well, so much for the video, let's come back to Pacha. Actually, he performed rather well at this (at our modest level) with circles, haunches outside, quarter of a turn on the forehand, leg yield, etc.. He showed no restiveness and got lighter and lighter throughout. I had draw reins on, but very loose except a few 'touches' on a single hand to ask lightness and poll relaxation.
A good overall session, soft and relaxed. Pacha was dry when we finished.
