Pacha - february 16, 2009
Weather is improving (6°C). Pacha had fallen with a young rider yesterday while jumping at a junior local competition organised by the club. Hopefully, no consequence as far as I could see today in a quiet session. As his contact with the bit has become more assured, I thought it was time to let the rubber rod bit alone and replace it by an ordinary, articulated steel snaffle. It worked quite well, and he did accept it without problem. It will allow a finer work, always of course with a very light hand. We did walk and trot with simple figures, and no canter, because I did not want any strong effort on his tendons with respect to yesterday's incident. He was calm, forward and (most of the time) straight. What else can one want? We went back to stables dry and relaxed.
